Hi, I'm Hugo Casero, a Senior ML Engineer with a long-standing interest in transparency, open data, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence. When I'm not thinking about models and pipelines, I'm usually woodworking or drawing.
You can find my personal page at hucara.github.io and the code I share publicly on GitHub.
Facthem EU started as a question I couldn't stop thinking about: how far can you push AI to automate political fact-checking at scale? The European Parliament produces hundreds of interventions every session, most of which are never scrutinised beyond the chamber. I wanted to see whether a fully automated pipeline — from raw transcript to published verdict — could surface something useful.
This is a personal project, built and maintained in my spare time. There is no company, no editorial team, no investors. Every euro spent on compute, infrastructure, and API costs comes out of my own pocket.
Processing each parliamentary session costs roughly 4–5 USD in AI model usage alone, and there are dozens of sessions per year. If you find Facthem EU useful and want to help keep it running, any contribution — however small — makes a real difference.
Thank you for your support! 🥸
