• The MEP's statement is a paraphrase rather than a direct quotation from Article 24. The actual Article 24(1) states: 'States Parties recognize the right of persons with disabilities to education. With a view to realizing this right without discrimination and on the basis of equal opportunity, States Parties shall ensure an inclusive education system at all levels and lifelong learning.' The MEP's version simplifies the legal language but captures the substantive meaning of the provision.
