The French case (confirmed 24 June 2026) is described as a doctor who returned from the DRC, but none of the sources found state the city where it was detected; 'Paris' could not be independently confirmed.
Both European cases were imported cases (humanitarian/medical workers brought to Europe for treatment), not locally transmitted infections; there is no evidence the outbreak spread within Paris or Berlin.
A later Guardian report (14 July 2026) on another US Ebola patient arriving in Germany post-dates the session and could not have been known by the MEP.
The Berlin case at Charité hospital (May 2026) was a US citizen evacuated for treatment; it was not a locally detected case in the sense of community transmission.
