During these one and a half minutes, over 2,000 animals were slaughtered in Germany alone.

Omissions

• The figure includes poultry (chickens, turkeys, ducks) which account for the vast majority (93.5%) of slaughtered animals. The MEP could not have known the 2025 data at the time of speaking (April 30, 2026), but 2024 data would have shown similar figures.
