Nine EU member states have still not ratified CETA after nine years.

- The European Commission page states 18 ratified / 9 pending, but a Library of Parliament of Canada briefing dated 26 September 2025 refers to 'the other eight EU member states that have not ratified CETA', leaving a one-country discrepancy between sources that cannot be resolved with the searches available.
- The publication/update date of the European Commission DG Trade page could not be established; if it predates late 2025, the pending count may since have fallen to eight.
- The MEP does not name the nine Member States; the lists published by independent trackers (e.g. Carleton University's CETA Ratification Tracker, August 2024) named Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Poland and Slovenia — ten at that time, indicating one has since ratified.
- CETA has been provisionally applied since 21 September 2017, so non-ratification by some Member States has not prevented most of the agreement from being in force.
