• The 1 in 7 figure (14%) cited appears to reference 2014 FRA survey data on intimate partner violence reporting, not rape specifically. The 2026 FRA data shows lower reporting rates of 6.1% for partner violence and 11.3% for non-partner violence.
• The claim does not distinguish between partner and non-partner violence, which have significantly different reporting rates (6.1% vs 11.3% respectively according to 2026 FRA data).
• The FRA survey data publication (2026) was after the session date (April 2026), but the data refers to survey results that would have been available. However, the MEP could have cited the 2014 FRA survey which showed approximately 14% reporting rates for intimate partner violence.
