The Council proposes to increase the delay compensation threshold from three hours to four hours for short distances and to six hours for long-distance flights.

Omissions

• The current 3-hour threshold is for flights up to 1,500 km. The Council's proposal sets 4 hours for flights up to 3,500 km and 6 hours for flights over 3,500 km. The European Parliament has rejected this proposal and seeks to maintain the 3-hour threshold.
