The EU internal market has 100 million more inhabitants than the United States.

Omissions

• The actual population gap is about 109–110 million (EU 451.3 million on 1 January 2025 vs. US 341.8 million on 1 July 2025), so the MEP's '100 million' is a rounded, slightly conservative understatement of the real difference.
• The claim concerns the EU-27 internal market; if the wider European Economic Area (including Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) were meant, the gap would be slightly larger still.
• The US Census Bureau press release was published in 2026 (after the session date), but the population estimate it contains refers to 1 July 2025, i.e. a reference period before the session date of 16 September 2026, so it is admissible.
