Omissions

• The most recent official data (European Commission, reference year 2023) puts the figure at 33.5 million jobs, i.e. above the claimed 'more than 30 million' — the claim is a conservative lower bound.
• The Commission figure specifically covers jobs supported by exports to non-EU countries (extra-EU trade), not total trade including intra-EU flows.
• No more recent official estimate (2024 or 2025 reference year) for jobs supported by EU trade appears to have been published before the session date of 2026-07-08; the Commission's dedicated 'Trade and jobs' page still reports the 2023 reference year as the latest.
