Omissions

• The €600 billion figure is the European Commission's estimate from November 2022 and is therefore more than three years old at the time of the session; the MEP presents it as current knowledge ('as of today').
• The claim conflates two different metrics: 'direct damage' and 'reconstruction and recovery needs'. RDNA5 (23 February 2026) puts direct damage as of 31 December 2025 at only US$195.1 billion (≈€166 billion), while total reconstruction/recovery needs are US$587.7 billion (≈€507 billion).
• The most recent official needs figure in euro terms (≈€507 billion, EP study citing RDNA5) is roughly 15% below the claimed €600 billion, so the figure overstates the current euro-denominated total.
• No source was found that, as of 2026, still officially estimates Ukraine's war damage at €600 billion; the closest current authoritative numbers are the RDNA5 figures.
