With Australia, the EU adds 24,000 tonnes of beef and 20,000 tonnes of sheep meat.

Omissions

• The claim understates the actual quotas by 6,600 tonnes for beef and 5,000 tonnes for sheep meat
• The sheep meat quota includes both sheep and goat meat combined
• The quotas are carcase weight equivalent (CWE) measurements
• These quotas are to be phased in over 10 years as part of the EU-Australia Free Trade Agreement finalized in 2024-2025
• The MEP could have cited these more recent figures as the EU-Australia agreement was concluded in 2024-2025
