Omissions

• The 68% headline figure is fully corroborated by the European Commission's own press release; the 81% support for a common security and defence policy is confirmed only by a secondary source (Institut Jacques Delors), which may relate to a recent but not necessarily the identical Eurobarometer wave.
• The underlying Eurobarometer wave was conducted in late 2025/early 2026 and published on 13 February 2026, i.e. several months before the session date of 15 September 2026; the MEP's characterisation of the poll as 'recent' is accurate.
