Omissions

• The 300 million figure corresponds to the 2025 humanitarian planning cycle (OCHA GHO 2025: 305 million at launch in December 2024; ~300 million in the July 2025 update), not to 2026.
• The most recent official figure available before the session date (GHO 2026, launched December 2025) was 239 million people in need, revised to 256 million after new emergency appeals — clearly below 300 million (difference of roughly 15–20%).
• A possible GHO 2026 mid-year update published close to or after the session date could not be checked (search limit reached); no evidence was found that the 2026 figure returned to ~300 million.
• The MEP cited no source; the widely circulated 2025 figure (~300–305 million) appears to have been used without adjusting to the 2026 estimate.
