Omissions

• The IOM 'over 15 million' figure refers to people displaced from their homes since April 2023 (cumulative displacement, including people who have since returned), whereas the number of people currently remaining internally displaced is lower — IOM reported approximately 9.33 million IDPs remaining after 1,000 days of conflict, with around 3 million having returned. The claim's 'more than 13 million' figure is best understood as total displacement (IDPs + refugees abroad / cross-border), which is consistent with both IOM and UNHCR data.
• The original Spanish statement also cited 'más de 33 millones necesitan ayuda urgente' (more than 33 million need urgent help) and millions under threat of famine; only the displacement figure was assessed here.
