The claim refers to the loan as if it had already been provided. In reality, at the time of the session (16 June 2026), not a single euro of the €90 billion had been disbursed. The first instalment (€3.2 billion) was transferred on 25 June 2026, nine days after the session.
The €90 billion is a loan facility for 2026–2027, not a one-time transfer. Disbursements are made in instalments subject to conditions.
The MEP did not mention that the EU had already provided approximately €43.3 billion in macro-financial assistance to Ukraine between 2022 and 2026 prior to this new loan package.
The European Council agreed on the loan in December 2025 and the Council finalised it in April 2026, but the Memorandum of Understanding with Ukraine was only signed on 21 May 2026 — less than a month before the claim.
