The most recent IPC data available before the session date (April 2026) indicates 45% of the population facing acute hunger in September 2025, slightly below the 'nearly half' (50%) figure stated by the MEP. Earlier analyses from October 2024-May 2025 projected approximately half the population (around 50%) facing acute food insecurity. The figure of 45% represents Phase 3 (Crisis) or above on the IPC scale. The IPC data was published in 2025 and would have been available to the MEP.
