The European Union has given €300 billion to Ukraine since the start of the war.

Omissions

• The €300 billion figure conflates committed/pledged amounts (including the €90 billion package agreed for 2026-2027 and the €50 billion Ukraine Facility) with amounts actually paid/disbursed; much of the support consists of loans and guarantees rather than grants.
• EU institutions alone have provided or guaranteed only about €107 billion from the EU budget (plus €77 billion in military assistance measures and €17 billion for refugees), per the Council of the EU.
• The Kiel Institute Ukraine Support Tracker update of August 2026 (after the session date of 2026-07-07) reports that Europe increased its aid allocations further in May-June 2026; even so, that is allocations/commitments, not payments, and postdates the claim.
• The most recent pre-session primary sources (Consilium pages, continuously updated) still show total EU-level support well below €300 billion.
